Offices
Admission Office
The Admission Office helps families gather all of the information they need to determine whether University Prep is a good fit for both their child and their family. Our staff is available to answer questions throughout the admissions process.
College Counseling Office
University Prep's College Counseling Office operates as a bridge to postgraduate experiences. It is our belief that post-high school plans should:
- Enhance personal intellectual growth.
- Capitalize on student interests and abilities.
- Seek to find the optimal match between an institution of higher learning and the student.
Communications Office
The Communications Office is responsible for managing an effective internal system, as well as for the school's outreach, public relations, advertising, and publications. The school publishes Prep Talk, a monthly newsletter distributed to parents, faculty, and trustees, and Happenings, a quarterly publication mailed to families, alumni, and friends around the world.
Development Office
The Development Office heads University Prep's fundraising efforts. This office also maintains the school's mailing list and serves as a liaison between the Parent Council, the Alumni Association and the school. Ongoing fundraising efforts include the Annual Fund, Corporate/Foundation Grants, Planned Giving, and Endowments.
Information Technology
The Information Technology team maintains the smooth operation of U Prep’s internal and external computer network and all other technology on campus. In addition to its role as a support group, the technology department teaches students to be technologically literate and trains the faculty to facilitate the integration of technology into the curriculum.
Intercultural Affairs Office
The Office of Intercultural Affairs works to ensure that University Prep recruits and maintains a diverse student body, faculty, and staff. The office oversees University Prep’s Global Education programs and acts as a resource for students, teachers and parents interested in domestic and international programs relative to diversity, social justice, and international studies. The office also drives school community-based efforts to ensure acceptance and understanding of people of diverse ethnic, economic, religious and racial backgrounds, as well as those of varying physical ability, learning styles and sexual orientation.
Library Services
University Prep has a 10,000-volume library. The library has full Internet access and subscribes to two online databases including the full text of approximately 1,000 magazines and newspapers. General works may be checked out for a period of 14 days and may be renewed. Reference works and nonbook materials (magazines, audiovisual materials, vertical file items and reserve books) may not be checked out except by permission of the librarians. Students may also access the University Prep Library Catalogue through the Internet.
Main Office
University Prep's Main Office serves as the front door to the school community. The Main Office coordinators help students, parents, and visitors as well as faculty and staff obtain any information they may need. Parents are asked to call the Main Office if their child will be absent, late, or leaving early. Parents are requested to notify the school about student absences by 10 a.m., if possible. Late-arriving students must check in through the Main Office.
Registrar
The Registrar's Office maintains each student's permanent and transitory records and is responsible for tracking the progress of Upper School students toward meeting graduation requirements. The Registrar produces report cards, calculates GPAs, and determines student eligibility for academic honors.
Student Counseling
The University Prep counseling program is available to all students and is staffed by mental health professionals. Its purpose is to provide students with emotional support, advocacy, and community referral sources within a confidential setting.
