Sibling Admission

University Prep offers sibling applicants an early admission process. The early sibling admission process is an effort to alleviate some of the stress on current U Prep families associated with the independent school admission process. We understand the commitment of time and resources required to apply to several schools. While University Prep does not guarantee acceptance to siblings, our program is a good match for the majority of sibling applicants. The early sibling process allows current families time between decision notification from University Prep and the application deadline to other independent schools, should they need to explore other educational options for their child. We extend the courtesy of the early sibling process to children of faculty and staff.

Below are the early sibling admission dates for 2012-2013:

• October 11 - Online core application (complete and submit steps 1-3) deadline
• November - Campus visits and interviews, optional parent tours
• November 15 - Final application deadline (supplemental forms)
• December 20 - Decision notification
• February 14 - Enrollment contract and deposit deadline

In order to participate in this process, siblings must take the Independent School Entrance Exam by December 8, 2012. To begin the early sibling admission process, simply complete and submit the Core Application forms (steps 1-3) with the $75 application fee through the online application by October 11, 2012. In addition to the core application, please remember the following items are due in the admission office by November 15, 2012:

• Student Essay and Parent/Guardian Statement
• Two completed Teacher Evaluation forms (delegated forms will list general application due date of January 15, so please follow up with teachers to remind them that the sibling deadline is November 15)
• Official transcripts or school records (because of the earlier deadline for siblings, we are aware that we may not receive any school records/transcripts from the current school year, so the previous two years of records/transcripts will be  sufficient by the application deadline)
• Independent School Entrance Exam must be taken on or by 12/8/2012
