The First Annual Seattle Independent Schools College Fair was a huge success! Many thanks to the college representatives, high school students, and families who attended our inaugural event. We will be posting information on the 2009 college fair in the spring of 2009.

Because of space limitations and the desire to meet the needs of our students, participation in the Seattle Area Independent Schools College Fair is by invitation only. We ask that trained admission professionals only attend the college fair (alumni volunteers are welcome to assist as needed). Since space and parking will be an issue, we also ask that you don't publish information on this fair to a broad audience -- we want to keep the number of students in attendance small enough for you to engage in meaningful conversations with them.
Please contact Britten Nelson at University Prep if you have any questions or call 206.832.1111.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Why host a college fair? We’re proud of the diverse talents of our student bodies, and we know colleges are impressed with our students, too. Seattle is one of the few cities in the United States that doesn’t offer a joint independent school program, and we feel it’s time to work collectively to plan a program to bring top-notch colleges and a strong group of students together.
- Why isn’t this fair during the NACAC conference when most college representatives are in town? With thousands of college representatives in town for NACAC, we know that scheduling visits to high schools in the days leading up to and after NACAC will be hectic and that many admission counselors will likely return to the region when things are calmer to set up high school visits, programs, and interviews with students.
- Can I still set up high school visits at your schools? Absolutely! Our hope is that the college fair allows you to meet a broad range of students, but if you want to return for a high school visit at any of our partner schools (or with Rainier Scholars), that’s fine, too.
