University Prep Service and Wellness Day

It was an unusual day at University Prep today, with the Middle School taking part in a service day, and the Upper School engaging in grade-level activities and wellness activities and, for tenth and eleventh graders, taking standardized tests in the morning. Sixth and seventh grade students learned about the meaning of service in several presentations this morning, and then had the opportunity to participate in several service activities in the afternoon, such as making care bags for a teen shelter, writing gratitude letters, and making recipe books for food banks. Eighth graders went off campus, volunteering at one of four sites, including Mary's Place, North Helpline, Rainier Valley Food Bank and Evergreen Mountain Bike. Upper School students took part in a rotation of activities that they selected from 24 choices, including social media wellness, Houseplants 101, journaling, silent reading, organizing and prioritizing, chilling with Mozart, walking, and juggling.
