UPrep Mock Trial Brings Home Awards from State

Surmounting tough obstacles, UPrep's Mock Trial team made it to State for the first time in two years, having finished 10th in Districts and collecting six Outstanding Attorney and five Outstanding Witness awards. The team faced an uphill challenge this season, as it had lost a lot of strong competitors to college as well as the college process. At State this past weekend, the team made up of both seniors and freshmen, did well, coming home with an Outstanding Attorney award for Samia A., and Outstanding Witness awards for Hannah K., Ashley S., Thalia S., Jacob R., and Michael W.

Senior Hannah K. says, "At State, people really hit their stride, and it was incredible to see my teammates performing at their best. I'm going to be sad to leave the program come graduation, as I have loved Mock Trial every step of the way." Her classmate Nikhil D. shared her sentiments. "For me, Mock Trial is always a difficult yet rewarding experience. People across the board put forth their best work at the state level, which was phenomenal to see and experience.I wish we could have placed higher at State, but seeing the potential in our younger talent was inspiring and I am excited to see what future years can accomplish!"
