Grading
Computing Grade Point Average and Class Rank
Grading in academic course work is rigorous. Grades are not weighted. Due to the small size of each graduating class, rankings are not computed. Letter grades and written comments are sent to parents midway through each semester. In addition, parents receive report cards at the end of each semester with quarter grades as well as the permanent semester grade.
University Prep uses "A" through "E" marks, with pluses and minuses when appropriate. An "A" means excellent; an "E" indicates that the student is not passing the course and the class must be repeated with a passing grade for credit. In addition, the school uses an "I" to register an incomplete, "W" for withdrawal with no credit, "P" for pass. Study Hall grades are Satisfactory (S) and Unsatisfactory (U).
