International Student Admission
International applicants are defined as students who currently attend school outside the United States and are not United States citizens or permanent residents. Please note that UPrep does not issue the Form I-20, and students seeking admission must have a visa that supports studying in the United States. An example of this would be a child who has an H-4 visa because a parent or guardian is working in the United States on an H-1B visa. UPrep does not offer visa assistance or advice.
Prior to considering an application, international students should carefully review the following information and requirements:
- International applicants follow the same application process as domestic applicants with one exception: a campus visit is not required. International applicants will be scheduled for a Zoom interview.
- UPrep does not offer English Language Learning (ELL). Students must be fluent and at grade level in spoken and written English. Fluency will be determined by an applicant's academic record, standardized test scores, and admission interview. TOEFL scores are optional.
- UPrep is not a boarding school, and we do not arrange for homestays. All students are required to live with their legal parent or guardian throughout the duration of their attendance. Guardianship is a legal status in Washington state and is not just a relative or family friend.
- All applicants must intend to graduate from UPrep.
- Financial aid is not available for international students.
- UPrep does not consider international applicants for mid-year transfers or one-year exchanges.
- The application fee for international students is $100.
