Upcoming Arts Events

Spring 2019 Arts Events will include:

Upper School, Short Plays Exploring the Human Condition, April 25 and 27

  • This semester the Upper School Play Production and Stagecraft students have been preparing for a series of theatrically diverse ten-minute plays and a one-act play about the lives of LBGTQ students in our present society.
  • In Act One, five short plays will feature sword- fighting pirates, love’s opportunity lost, missing children, fear and worship of a dictator, and the academy awards. The plays range from comedy to the very serious. Act Two, titled How We G.L.O.W., is a one-act play created by Jamila Humphrie and UPrep’s Social and Emotional Learning Coordinator Emily Schorr Lesnick. This reality play utilizes a series of interviews with gay and questioning LGBTQ young persons who share their life stories and experiences in today’s society.
  • The performances will be presented in the experimental setting of FA085, the dance and rehearsal room in the lower level of the Fine Arts building. Due to the ongoing construction, performances will be Thursday, April 25, at 4:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 27, at 4:00 and 7:30 p.m. There is no charge for these performances and you may reserve tickets online here.
