Parent Education Event on Intensives September 11
To kick off its first in-service day of the year, University Prep faculty and staff heard a presentation on Intensive terms from Kim Samson, Assistant Head of the Upper School at the Hawken School in Cleveland, Ohio. The Hawken School introduced intensives a decade ago, and UPrep has sought out the school's expertise and lessons learned as we transition over to intensive terms this year. Samson will also participate in a Parent Education panel discussion tomorrow evening in the UPrep Library (refreshments at 6:30 p.m., event at 7:00 p.m.). She will share how intensives have enriched Hawken's curriculum. UPrep panelists will include Richard Kassissieh, Assistant Head for Academics and Strategic Initiatives, and Kelly Herrington, Director of College Counseling and Student Services.
