UPrep Wellness Day
As part of its commitment to Social Emotional Learning, University Prep held its annual Upper School Wellness Day today with an overall focus on stress reduction as the first quarter concludes next week. Students had the opportunity to select among more than 30 activities in 4 areas: physical fitness, mindfulness, practical life skill building, and social emotional skill building.
"Our goal is provide time and space where students are encouraged to care for their bodies, care for their minds, and empower students to make choices which relieve stress and promote wellness," said Associate Director of Upper School Sarah Peterson.
The Middle School also had an unusual school day, taking the MAP test in the morning and then spending the remainder of the day on community service. Students first learned about the importance of service from teachers as well as several seniors, then engaged in a variety of service projects on campus. The day concluded with some post-service reflection and with cupcakes for all.
