My trip challenged me physically, showed me a landscape I had never seen before, and gave me the opportunity to bond with my peers in a special way.” Cooper, Class of 2016
Sustainable, environmentally conscious, and local outdoor experiences provide University Prep students the opportunity to combine the School’s mission of social responsibility with environmental stewardship.
Participation in the Outdoor Program is part of every Middle School student’s experience at University Prep, and the program is available to all Upper School students who wish to participate.
Students may hike past lakes and streams in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness area, traverse valleys and mountain passes in the Goat Rocks Wilderness area, or spend a night in an igloo of their own construction while snow camping in the Gold Creek valley.
Current Families: Additional information and links on our Outdoor Programs are available in the Veracross Family Portal.
UPrep's dedication to Leave No Trace ethics and sustainability extends to all facets of our outdoor programs. We keep our footprint as small as possible in urban environments as well as the wilderness. By using local destinations and facilities, fees for students and the environmental impact of program travel are kept to a minimum.
