About UPrep

Welcome to UPrep, one of seattle's best private schools!

We value how well-rounded UPrep is; we're confident it gives our children the best chance at a smooth transition through adolescence and into young adulthood." –UPrep parents Dylan and Kristen Cohon

UPrep is a 6–12 private school in the Wedgwood neighborhood of northeast Seattle where extraordinary faculty and staff are devoted to each student’s potential.

Our middle and high school students learn that when they are asked to explore everything, they discover they can achieve anything.

UPrep's challenging academic program in an inclusive environment encourages students to grow confident. Surrounded by a diverse community of faculty, coaches, mentors, and friends on a campus intentionally designed for close connections, promising students find their voice, their passions, and their purpose during a shared journey of joyful self-discovery.

At UPrep, students lead a life of learning.

UPrep has helped grow our student from an intelligent and empathetic learner in 6th grade, to a force for change in the world in 12th grade." –UPrep parent
Our experience with UPrep has been outstanding. The school's culture is very inclusive, friendly, and supportive. We couldn't be more proud to be a part of this community." –UPrep parent

UPrep's Founders at a school celebration

our history

UPrep was founded in 1976 by seven public school teachers to nurture true leaders. Like our Founders, our faculty and staff are passionate educators who possess deep expertise in their disciplines, work collaboratively, and strive to provide the best educational experience for our students. At UPrep, each member of our community is committed to leading a life of learning.

If you're looking for a second family, this is the place. Everyone knows each other and is supportive of one another. There are many opportunities and resources for whatever you choose to pursue or take interest in." –UPrep alum
