FOR OUR NEIGHBORS

UPrep was a proud neighbor of the late renowned artist and Ravenna resident Alfredo Arreguín, and we are honored to display one of his paintings in our new ULab building. Read more about Alfredo’s life and work on the UPrep blog.

As part of UPrep’s ULab construction and Master Use Permit, the school partnered with the Seattle Department of Transportation to fund nearly $1M of sidewalk improvements, ADA accessibility ramps, school zone signage, and flashing signals. During arrival and dismissal times, we have stationed adults in neon safety vests on the corner of 80th and 25th Avenue NE to ensure that members of our community and our neighbors can safely cross the streets.

UPrep implemented Be a Good Neighbor protocols in spring 2022. We ask all visitors and members of our community—students, faculty, staff, and families—to abide by these parking and student pick-up/drop-off protocols. Learn more.

On the ULab campus, we preserved three exceptional trees, which means they are protected by the City of Seattle due to their unique historical, ecological, and aesthetic value. The trees provide a mature canopy for the neighborhood. UPrep also retained other existing trees and funded significant landscaping improvements around the building to create a Pacific Northwest woodland experience.

At UPrep, we are proud members of the Wedgwood and Ravenna communities and we strive to be good neighbors. Our Students of Service Club patrols Dahl Playfield each month to pick up litter and keep the fields clean for all to enjoy.
